Polysaccharides based chiral stationary phases synthesis
Polysaccharides derivatives, esters or carbamates, are among the most efficient chiral stationary phases. In our laboratory, we develop new polysaccharide chiral stationary phases introducing molecules with an additionnal chiral centre : profens and amino acids, for instance.
Above (blue): Cellulose tris-α-phenylpropionate
On the right (black): Cellulose tris-N-phthalyl-amino-esters
The characterization of these phases consists in the determination of the substitution degree and in the configuration of the introduced chiral centre.
Microbatch methodology is then used to evaluate the chromatographic performances of these chiral stationary phases. This technique has the advantage to be fast and to require only a few milligrams of product.
